Doors and windows are the units of a building, the decorative symbols of the facade effect, and ultimately reflect the characteristics of the building. Although different buildings have different requirements for the design of doors and windows, and the detailed layout of doors and windows varies greatly, some rules can still be found.
1. The vertical division of doors and windows should comply with aesthetic characteristics. When designing the division, the following factors should be considered
(1) Coordination of division ratio. For a single glass panel, the aspect ratio should be as close as possible to the golden ratio, and should not be designed as a square or a narrow rectangle with an aspect ratio of 1:2 or more. The height of the transom is generally 1/4 to 1/5 of the frame height, and should not be too large or too small;
⑵ The vertical division of doors and windows should have a certain pattern, while also reflecting changes, and seeking patterns through changes; The density and degree of grid lines; The division of equal distance and size shows rigor, solemnity, and seriousness; Unequally spaced free division displays rhythm, liveliness, and dynamism;
At least the horizontal grid lines of doors and windows in the same room and on the same wall should be on the same horizontal line as much as possible, and the vertical lines should be aligned as much as possible;
When designing the facade of doors and windows, it is necessary to consider the overall effect requirements of the building, such as the contrast between virtual and real, light and shadow effects, symmetry, etc.
2. Selection of door and window colors (including colors of glass and profiles)
The color selection of doors and windows is an important aspect that affects the final effect of a building. The color of doors and windows should be matched with the characteristics of the building. When determining the color, it should be jointly agreed with the architectural designer, owner, and other parties.
3. Personalized design of doors and windows
We can design unique door and window facades based on customers' different hobbies and aesthetic perspectives.
4. Permeability of doors and windows
It is best not to set horizontal or vertical frames within the visual height range of the main viewing area of the door and window facade (about 1.5m-1.8m) to avoid blocking the view. Some doors and windows require high transmittance glass or require a large open field of view to facilitate viewing of outdoor scenery.
5. Daylighting and ventilation of doors and windows
The ventilation area and number of movable fans of doors and windows should meet the ventilation requirements of the building; At the same time, the lighting area of doors and windows should also meet the provisions of the "Building Lighting Design Standards" (GB/T50033-2001) and the requirements of the building design drawings. Article 4.2.4 of the "Design Standard for Energy Efficiency in Public Buildings" (GB 50189-2005) stipulates that the area ratio of windows to walls in each direction of building exterior windows should not exceed 0.70. When the window to wall area ratio is less than 0.40, the visible light transmittance of the glass should not be less than 0.4.
