Last week's severe storm left many homeowners anxious-windows rattling, sealing strips loosening, water leakage issues… Are these problems troubling you too? Don't worry! 3 Things You Must Do to Inspect Your Doors and Windows

1️⃣ Comprehensive Sealability Inspection

👉 Inspection of Rubber Strip Aging: Gently press the edge of the window frame with your hand. If the rubber strip is cracked or peeling off, it needs to be replaced in a timely manner. (A comparison picture of the aged rubber strip and the new rubber strip can be attached.)
👉 Drainage Hole Unblocking: Check whether the drainage holes of the window frame are blocked by dust. Use a thin iron wire to gently poke or use compressed air to clean them to avoid rainwater backflow.
👉 Fastening of Hardware: Are the hinges and locking points loose? Use a screwdriver to tighten them to ensure that the window closes tightly.

2️⃣ Safety of the Glass and Window Frame
⚠️ Is the glass shaking? Gently tap the edge of the glass. If there is a "creaking" sound, it may be that the fixing bead is loose and needs to be refixed.
⚠️ Emergency Treatment for Glass Damage: If a crack is found, immediately stick adhesive tape in a "cross" shape to prevent secondary cracking, and contact the after-sales service for replacement.

3️⃣ Flexibility of Window Opening
🔧 Lubrication of Sliding Supports/Hinges: Windows that have not been maintained for a long time may get stuck. Spray lubricating oil on the rotating shaft of the sliding support and test the smoothness by opening and closing the window repeatedly.
🔧 Adjustment of the Limiter: Strong winds may cause the limiter to shift, and it needs to be adjusted to an appropriate opening angle. (It is recommended that the window opening should not exceed 30 cm to prevent the wind.)

Emergency Tips for Using Doors and Windows in Strong Winds

🌪️ During a sudden strong wind: ✔️ When closing the window, leave a gap of 1-2 cm to balance the internal and external air pressure and reduce the pressure on the glass. (An operation schematic diagram is attached.) ✔️ Use windproof adhesive tape to stick an "X" shape on the glass surface to enhance the impact resistance. (An animated GIF of the DIY tutorial can be attached.) 🌧️ Follow-up treatment during rainy days: 💡 If there is water seepage on the inner side? Check whether the drainage slope of the windowsill is ≥ 5° and clean up the accumulated water on the windowsill. 💡 If there are water marks on the outer side? Wipe it with a neutral cleaner to avoid corroding the surface of the profile.

Daily Maintenance Tips for Longer-lasting Doors and Windows

✨ Regular Cleaning: Wipe the profiles with a soft cloth and a neutral cleaner every month to prevent acidic or alkaline liquids from damaging the surface coating. ✨ Windproof Habits: Install diamond mesh screens before the typhoon season. They can not only keep mosquitoes out but also block the impact of debris. ✨ Avoid Violent Operation: Do not open and close the windows repeatedly for testing during strong wind days to prevent the hardware from deforming.

Safety Warning! Please Report for Repair Immediately in the Following Situations.

❗ Spider-web-like cracks appear on the glass. ❗ The screw holes of the hinges are stripped and can't be used for fixing. ❗ There is still an obvious sound of wind leakage even after the window is closed. Take immediate action: Call the after-sales service of the doors and windows to deal with the abnormal situations.
